The Philippine Women's University and Gender Development

The Philippine Women's University is the first University ever institutionalized for Women in this naturally beautiful country, The Philippines and in the Asia Pacific Region. PWU is genuinely a steadfast leader on its own specializing in the Advancement and Empowerment of the Filipino Women, primarily, and that of the other Asian Women as well. This formidable academic institution, is a continuing fighter for academic freedom, women empowerment, and preservation and promotion of the country's culture and heritage. This is the only University founded by the Oriental Asian brood, capitalizing and transforming the strength of the Asia Pacific influence around the globe to an indispensable expanse of Human Resources, Knowledge and Skills. The PWU survived the world war II era and even became a USAFFE Hospital to serve its role in fighting for the country's battle against colonial invasion. The PWU knew right from the very start that the country's origins are the key to knowing its future role and direction in its active contribution to building a nation.

PWU has made its mark and continues to make a difference. Gender Development studies as required in all curriculum levels is what makes it tick. GAD ( Gender and Development) teaches gender sensitivity and recognition of the role of women in society. These are Pro-active roles that liberates our unconsciousness to conscious knowledge that our struggle as women in any forms of society and all class levels, is not all over, we still have a long way to go and there's no point of slowing down. That the fight for women empowerment must continue and achieve greater heights.

PWU also teaches MSCED or (Moral, Social, Cultural Education) which is free from religious and any philosophical prejudice. This is a great tool in embracing academic freedom and self-liberation to social impositions and dictates.

PWU is not giving up to the pressure of the times. In fact, it has taken leadership to another level. A transformative social leadership which they've become for the nth time a great pioneer in the academic arena.

Kudos to The Philippine Women's University!

We wanna make money

Women in the Philippines today ages 18 up to 35 are mostly working or must have worked at a certain point in their lives and dedicated their share of sweat, blood and tears to the Call Center Industry. Yes, they have made use of their selling skills, detailing skills and surviving skills necessary to hang on to the routine system that the profession entails and to rise up to the demands expected from an agent. A Pinay Call Center Agent. So, what the big fuss?

Really there's none. As a matter of fact it has done them better than good.

This industry... thanks to the invention of Outsourcing, has sent many children to schools, salvaged hunger many times over and have had "breakthroughs" for a better income for everyone at stake, which means more moodlah to spent and manage carefully , translates to a better quality of life. It may not be as great as the life of the Hiltons...but in the Philippines, you and I know what that means for most of us...that means bridging the here and now to hey, i wanna live that kinda life, work on that one great chance to change the kina life I'm in where I can somehow be financially independent, so I can buy what I want and spend it the way i want because its mine.

It has amazingly driven the youth in our county to get better because opportunities like these are like heaven sent.

Let's inspire ourselves. Let it be a conscious act.

as the famous ad says.. Fuel your drive!
